The discharge counter (hereinafter referred to as the counter) is a device connected in series under the arrester to record the number of arrester operations. The environmental conditions of the place of use are the same as those of the connected arrester. The lightning conductor monitor is connected in series under the arrester to monitor leakage current and record the number of arrester operations. It is used for zinc oxide arresters with voltage levels of 50kV and below. The environmental conditions used are the same as the connected arresters.
Structure and Function
The discharge counter is mainly composed of valve plates, silicon bridge rectifiers, capacitors, electromagnetic counters and other components. It uses the energy passing through the arrester (impulse current and power frequency current) to take the voltage on the valve plate (nonlinear electric anode), charges the capacitor in one direction through the silicon bridge rectifier, and discharges the electromagnetic counter coil with DC to cause the counter to actuate once, that is, record once to record the number of actions.
