The discharge counter (hereinafter referred to as the counting product is a device that is connected in series under the arrester to record the number of actions of the arrester. The environmental conditions at the place of use are the same as the connected arrester. The lightning arrester monitor is connected in series under the arrester for monitoring Leakage current and record the number of arrester actions, used for zinc oxide arresters with voltage levels of 50kV and below, using the same environmental conditions as the connected arresters.

Structure and function

The discharge counter is mainly composed of valve slices, silicon bridge rectifiers, capacitors, electromagnetic counters and other components. It uses the energy (impact current and power frequency current) passing through the arrester to take pressure on the valve slice (non-linear electric anode). The bridge rectifier charges the capacitor unidirectionally, and discharges the electromagnetic counter coil with direct current to make the counter suck once, that is, record once to realize the recording of the number of actions.
