1. Scope of application

The AC gapless metal oxide arrester is used to protect the insulation of AC power transmission and transformation equipment from lightning overvoltage and operating overvoltage damage. It is suitable for overvoltage protection of transformers, power transmission lines, power distribution panels, switch cabinets, power metering boxes, vacuum switches, parallel compensation capacitors, rotating electrical machines and semiconductor devices.

2. Features and Principles

The AC gapless metal oxide arrester has excellent nonlinear volt-ampere characteristics, good response characteristics, no freewheeling, large current capacity, low residual voltage, strong suppression of overvoltage, pollution resistance, anti-aging, and no altitude constraints. Features such as simple structure, no gaps, tight sealing, and long life.

The lightning arrester presents a high resistance state under normal system working voltage, and only microampere current passes through. Under the action of overvoltage and high current, it presents low resistance, thus limiting the residual voltage at both ends of the arrester.

4.use and maintenance

1. Selection: The use of lightning arresters should be selected reasonably according to the requirements of the place of use in accordance with the electrical parameters in the table of this instruction manual, and refer to the "Guidelines for the Use of AC Gapless Metal Oxide Surge Arresters".

2. Acceptance: Each box of arrester is accompanied by a certificate and a manual. The appearance should be checked during acceptance to prevent sharp blades from scratching the jacket. Do not remove the upper and lower end covers. When accepting, it should be measured according to the corresponding standards and ordering requirements. DC 1mA reference voltage.

3. Maintenance: In order to accumulate operating experience, the preventive test cycle is five years. The pre-test items are the reference voltage of DC 1mA and the leakage current at 0.75 times the reference voltage of DC 1mA. The measured voltage value should meet the corresponding standards and requirements.

4. Installation: The lightning arrester should be fixed on the shell or special support closer to the protected equipment, and multi-strand copper wires with a cross-section of not less than 6 square millimeters should be used to connect the upper wire terminal of the arrester to the phase wire and the lower wire terminal to the public ground. Online (grounding resistance is not more than 10 ohms).
