1、Improper installation
During the installation process, some installers are more casual during the operation and do not install according to the regulations, such as the tilt of the arrester body; the lead wire is too long or too short; even the phenomenon of using the arrester as a pillar porcelain bottle appears. These phenomena will cause the arrester body to be stressed and deformed, which will cause the zinc oxide valve body to deform and lose its function.
2、Improper disassembly
Since the lightning arrester has to conduct preventive tests before the arrival of the thunderstorm season each year, many lightning arresters are damaged during the disassembly process: due to the lack of responsibility, excessive force was used during the disassembly process, and the terminal was removed and the body was injured. Some people even dismantle the arrester body out of curiosity. This will damage the body seal of the arrester body. It is very easy to cause the arrester body to enter water and damp during the next period of use, and the insulation falls and the lightning protection fails. This also causes the arrester to operate. One reason for the explosion in the process.
3、Improper transportation and storage
Silicone rubber insulated zinc oxide surge arresters are in transportation and storage. Because the insulation jacket is silicone rubber, some people mistakenly think it is not easy to damage, so they are thrown and stacked at will, and marks are randomly placed on the insulation jacket, etc., resulting in the exterior of the arrester. The insulation sleeve and internal valve body are deformed and damaged, which brings avoidable hidden dangers to our power grid.
In view of the above problems, the following aspects should be paid attention to in the operation and maintenance of silicone rubber insulated zinc oxide arresters:
1. The arrester bracket should be used to install the arrester, or it can be replaced by the drop fuse connecting plate, so that the arrester is installed firmly and reliably and meets the safety requirements. (Lightning arrester manufacturer, European-style cable connector)
2. The lead wire of the arrester should use soft pure aluminum stranded wire or copper core wire. The steel core aluminum stranded wire should be removed from the steel core, and the length should be appropriate to avoid stress on the arrester terminal; if aluminum stranded wire is used for installation, the connection point It is best to use a copper-aluminum transition wire lug to avoid galvanic corrosion of the connection and cause difficulty in disassembly.
3. The ground down conductor of the arrester should be connected firmly and reliably.
4. Copper, stainless steel or hot-dip galvanized nuts should be used instead of iron nuts, so as not to be disassembled after corrosion.
5. During the disassembly and transportation works, be careful, handle with care, avoid squeezing and collision, and damage the body and parts of the arrester.
6. When storing the arrester, it should be stored in a dry and ventilated place, avoid storing it with corrosive chemicals, and prevent the silicone rubber insulation jacket from being damaged. At the same time, stacking should avoid deforming the body.
In addition, with the use of vacuum circuit breakers in the power grid, zinc oxide arresters should not be taken out of operation during non-lightning seasons to prevent system overvoltage from damaging equipment.
