In our daily lives, electronic floor scales are a relatively common weighing product, which mainly consists of three parts: a scale body, a load cell, and a weighing instrument. Specially designed for weighing large goods and vehicles. Many industries require the use of electronic floor scales for weighing. How to choose lightning arrester manufacturer? Electronic floor scales are generally installed outdoors in open spaces.


There are unpredictable weather conditions. Thunder and rain are normal natural phenomena. In such weather, there are many things to pay attention to. I would like to remind all outdoor electronic floor scale weighing users.Users, please take lightning protection and precautions.

When the electronic floor scale is working, the four fulcrums at the lower end of the scale body are connected to four weight sensors respectively. The weight sensors are pressed to generate analog electrical signals. The digital-to-analog converter converts the generated pressure analog signals into corresponding digital signals, and then transmits them to the display, which displays the corresponding weight data. Most of the electronic accessories of the floor scale are high-precision weak current accessories. Its sensors, amplifiers and display systems, scale platforms, rails and other large metal components are easily attacked by lightning and strong current.


The more advanced the microelectronic equipment is, the less power it consumes, and the more sensitive it is, the more destructive it will be. What are the manufacturers of high-voltage arresters? Therefore, electronic floor scales must take lightning protection measures. Common lightning protection measures for electronic floor scales include:

⑴ Install a lightning rod near the electronic floor scale body to neutralize the charge in the cloud with the tip discharge effect so that the floor scale will not be damaged by lightning strikes. The height of the lightning rod is determined according to the length of the weighbridge, and the lightning rod protects a circular area with a radius equal to its height.

⑵ The entire floor scale platform must be well grounded. Use one or more grounding cables to connect the scale body to the grounding pile or grounding grid to quickly conduct the induced current generated. The grounding pile or grounding grid should be placed in the zero zone with constant potential, and the grounding resistance should be <4 ohms. There is a spacious high-current return channel between the scale platform and the ground pile. When static electricity is induced, electrons can be supplemented from the earth to neutralize it. After the equipment generates high potential, it can be quickly evacuated without damaging the electrical equipment of the scale.

⑶Each sensor must have protective grounding. Therefore, a grounding wire should be set at each sensor position, and a grounding stake should be set between the sensor and the "ground". The grounding wire should be reliably connected to the grounding stake or the grounding wire should be connected to the nearest anchor bolt. However, the anchor bolts must be connected to the steel grounding grid within the foundation.

⑷The metal conduit passing through the signal cable is also connected to the grounding grid.

⑸The shielding layer of the load cell signal cable must be grounded. The power supply system of the floor scale generally has a long-distance signal cable from the scale platform to the scale room. Lightning strikes can induce high potential in the leads through electromagnetic induction, which may cause damage to the weighing instrument. Therefore, a shielding layer needs to be installed on the current power line in the system, and the shielding layer must be grounded.

⑹The shell of the weighing display instrument must be grounded. A grounding pile is installed in the weighing room and connected to the steel mesh (grounding) in the foundation of the scale. When a plastic shell is used, a metal film needs to be sprayed on the inner surface of the shell and then grounded.

⑺The junction box of the electronic floor scale should be equipped with a ground wire connected to the scale body. The power supply must be grounded and equipped with a surge protector.

⑻ Use multi-level lightning protection for the power supply and distribution system of the secondary instrument panel and computer software, carry out equipotential connection, and then receive the grounding device. The electronic floor scale power supply system adopts three-level lightning protection. The first-level power supply lightning protector is installed behind the system power supply switch, the second-level power supply lightning protector is installed in front of the adjustable voltage stabilized power supply, and the third-level power supply lightning protector is installed in front of the equipment. In addition, the three-level lightning protection protection ensures the same ground and the same ground as the scale body to ensure equal potential connection.

⑼ When frequent lightning occurs, turn off the power in time, unplug the power plug and the connecting plug between the scale and the instrument to stop working, and straighten out the outdoor power cord, the shielding wire of the scale and the instrument, do not twist it with the indoor electrical equipment, and completely disconnect it from the indoor electronic accessories to ensure that the instrument accessories and indoor related configurations are not struck by lightning.

⑽ Try to use DC power supply or UPS backup power supply on rainy days. If the power supply is unstable, a voltage stabilizer or UPS backup power supply should be configured.
