In actual on-site operations, the high-voltage arrester is installed above the high-voltage metering box, that is, the user who installs the high-voltage metering box must install a set of isolation switches and then install the fuse through the metering box.

Installing an isolation switch can solve the problems caused by installing it above the fall safety. If the high-voltage arrester of a transformer fails or is under maintenance, only a single transformer needs to be stopped, reducing the number of power outages on the entire line. When single-phase grounding or phase-to-phase short circuit occur simultaneously, fault detection and processing time can be reduced.
Accordingly, the installation location of the high-voltage arrester should be determined based on the electrical equipment installed on site. At the same time, there are many models of high-voltage arresters, so the model of high-voltage arrester must be selected correctly. Urban transformers are generally installed with an isolation switch and a high-voltage arrester on the upper side of the high-voltage metering box. If the suburban transformer is not equipped with an isolating switch, install a high-voltage surge arrester under the fall protection.
