Cable intermediate joint generally refers to the cable intermediate joint, that is, the cable joint in the center of the cable line. When purchasing cable intermediate joints, pay special attention to the quantity and quality of j-30 insulating glue and semi-conductive tape. Try to choose standard cable intermediate joints with large contact areas and treated with tin enameling or galvanizing processes. When the process is well controlled, the sealing and waterproofing of cold-shrinkable cable accessories should be better than that of heat-shrinkable cable accessories, and full cold-shrinkable cable intermediate joints can be given priority.

When making high-voltage cable intermediate joints outdoors, the relative air humidity should be below 70. When the humidity is high, the ambient temperature can be increased or the cable can be heated. Temporary work sheds should be set up during the construction of cable intermediate joints above 100kv. The environmental humidity should be strictly controlled and the temperature should be 10~30°C to prevent dust and debris from falling in. Construction in fog or rain is prohibited.

Cable length requirements should be considered during design, and the use of intermediate cable joints should be avoided as much as possible. If it is necessary to use intermediate cable joints, fire retardant coating or fireproof tape should be applied on both sides of the cable joint and within a 2~3m long section of adjacent cables. The cable intermediate joint must have high insulation strength and sufficient mechanical strength to withstand various mechanical stresses and the impact of short-circuit current. The joint is subject to the influence of environmental moisture for a long time and should have reliable sealing.
