Installation precautions:
1. The handover test should be carried out strictly in accordance with the regulations before installation;
2. The extension distance of the installation bracket should meet the requirement that the safety distance between the arrester and the protected insulator is greater than the maximum gap distance, and a certain margin should be reserved to prevent the arrester from discharging the insulator fittings. For example, the air distance between the arrester and the grounding body of the 220kV line should not be less than 1.9m;
3. The installation support of the high-voltage arrester can use two angle steel back plates and double parallel inclined arms on the main cross arm of the tower head or a combination of channel steel and angle steel. The types of channel steel and angle steel used should meet the requirements of the arrester's carrying capacity. When the 220kV line arrester is installed with two angle steels, the two angle steels shall not be lower than L63×6. When using a combination of channel steel and angle steel, the channel steel should be no less than 10;
4. When installing line arresters, in order to ensure the effectiveness of the gap distance, the extremely long axis of the arc at the end of the arrester should be perpendicular to the conductor below;
5. The pure air gap installation of line arresters should meet the requirements;
6. The counter of the line arrester should be a counter with a large plate diameter and a thick pointer to facilitate reading under the tower. The counter panel should be facing down when installed. When installing the counter, connect it to the ground terminal of the arrester through a soft wire. The counter faces the side of the main cross arm, or can be installed on the main cross arm of the tower head near the lightning arrester (drilling hole) side, but the distance from the lightning arrester shall not exceed 2m.
Operation and maintenance of 6-wire arrester
1) Establish ledgers, operation records and strict monitoring, and record lightning actions in a timely manner during thunderstorm seasons; at the same time, necessary maintenance, testing and rotation systems should be established to ensure the reliability of device operation.
2) Operation and maintenance work is combined with line maintenance, including:
Visual inspection of the appearance of the arrester body; measurement and inspection of the series gap, upper and lower electrodes; checking the connection between the high-voltage electrode and the ground terminal; checking the connection; checking and recording the number of counter actions; checking online or offline monitoring equipment.
3) After the line arrester has been in operation for 3-5 years, samples can be taken for sampling testing. If the sampling arrester test does not meet the requirements, the sampling ratio of the same batch of arresters will be increased. If there is still one unqualified one, the batch arrester test should be expanded to determine whether it can continue to operate.
4) For lightning arresters that operate extremely frequently (such as 20 times), the DC test cycle should be shortened. If the test fails, the arrester should stop working.
